It's easy enough to see for yourself where using Delcam For SolidWorks
interactive feature recognition you tell it what feature you wish to
create and then pick the SolidWorks feature from the SolidWorks
Feature Manager or the SolidWorks graphics area and for anything
you've created the technology for and stored you're done. No chaining,
no enter in machining parameters, no enter in the tool definition on
the fly, no pick the tool from the tool library, no set the lead in
and lead out. That's it. Your done.
Now lets look at a stand-alone approach. Not as good but passable...
for now. I doubt it will be for much longer as fully intergrated
CADCAM has too many advantages.
DP Technology Esprit 2010 has something called FX which imports the
SolidWorks Feature Manager and even use's all the same icons
SolidWorks does to recreate the SolidWorks Feature Manager inside of
Esprit 2010... I don't believe any feature recognition is done, I
believe it's all data taken from the SolidWorks file. While this
approach isn't as good as running inside of SolidWorks it's far better
than Gibbscam which has no fucking clue what a SolidWorks feature even
is!
In this mostly sales gimmick video a few very important things can be
seen in regards to DP Technology Esprit 2010:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yu1f04ai8Ro
1. The SolidWorks Feature Manager from the part is transferred into
Esprit 2010.
2. Esprit 2010 has the highest level of MachineWorks integration of
any CAM program.
3. I love how Esprit allows you to edit the properties of just about
anything in its Property Manager

We have yet to see any real comment discussed here other than the
FACTS I've post showing how buggy Mastercam X4 is. Further the
original poster who started this tread is obsessed with how long it
takes to pick out a tool out of a library rather than defining it from
scratch. This is because the original poster topped out at $23.50 an
hour and is a fucking moron when it comes to CADCAM. He only knows
Gibbscam and can't see any kind of big picture. Retired is where he
belongs.
Here is your content:
The big picture is you need a tool library to create any kind of
meaningful automation in a CADCAM program. In fact, you actually need
multiple user defined tool libraries to really give you control over
your automation / what your doing. If there is another way of doing
this than Guido / Hang Dog should be posting the name of the CADCAM
system that doesn't need a tool library but knowing Guido / Hang Dog
he won't. Suffice it to say that every system I know of, from
Mastercam, to Siemens NX, to SolidCAM, to Delcam For SolidWorks has
tool libraries but once again the point isn't really tool libraries
it's how do you automate repetitive bullshit that slows down CNC
program creation. The original poster doesn't want to go there because
Gibbscam doesn't have any real automation. Why? Bill Gibbs made the
decision years ago that Feature Recognition was bullshit and he waited
much to long to start using what little Gibbscam does use. Last I
heard Gibbscam was using GSSL's feature recognition for holes. Here's
a head's up: FeatureCAM doesn't use anything from GSSL. They do their
own feature recognition and they're damn proud of it.
Notice in this video that a tool is NEVER seen being chosen out of a
library or defined by scratch. Why? Because the automation in Delcam
For SolidWorks is applying the tools from the tool library that the
user has previously chosen that the user wishes to use for this part.
http://jonbanquer.wordpress.com/new-delcam-for-solidworks-video/
You wanted real content... now you've got real content.
I'm sure Cliffy, Tom Brewer, John Carroll and the real / fake Joe788
will be along shortly to try and move this thread off topic with their
usual fucking bullshit.
It's all about saving time and without a tool library to help in
applying a process to a feature you can't do much automation in any
CADCAM system that I know of. If Hang Dog / Guido knows of a system he
should have named it by now instead of playing his usual game of
obfuscation.

What CAD, CAM or CAD/CAM program did you use when you programmed
BottleBob's part?
Not idiot proof since you managed to make an error right off the bat
trying to draw this very simple part.

This trick has saved my hide more than once... I even keep a nice

occasions.

Well, it's already bought. But I would go in now and try buying the
consumables like gun tips and gas shields, a liner kit for the gun
whip, and an extra set of feed rollers for the optional larger (or
smaller) MIG wire. (They usually only give you the one set, you have
to buy the others.)
If they can't provide all the consumables and optional parts NOW, it
isn't going to get any better as the machine gets old. That's when
you see about backing out of the machine purchase.

The small sized tanks are all "Owner tanks" and there is no dispute.
the 10# asnd 20# Carbon Dioxide, and the ~100 cubic foot or smaller
sizes of Argon or Argon/CO2 blend, or the more exotic shielding gases
for vvarious uses.
The 20# CO2 is commonly used for soda fountains and beer tappers - and
since the beverage industry is getting away from cylinder CO2 at
restaurants and bars in favor of cryogenic tanks refilled straight
from the tank truck, the small cylinders are plentiful and cheap.
Where you get into a gray area are the 'Full Size' cylinders (the 5'
tall ones) that are sometimes leased from the Welding Supply, and
sometimes sold to you outright - but you have to keep the receipt
paperwork that says you bought it forever.
The Lease cylinders have the name of the owner stramped on the
safety cap collar, the owner cylinders do not.

CO2 is in the cylinder as a liquid, so you get by far the most bang
for your buck on straight CO2. The others are pressurized gas, and
don't contain nearly as much gas volume.

I've had a heart attack, and the living is just fine. It is for most people
who have had one -- those who got care. Those who didn't are dead.
I'd like to say that we can just let everyone decide if they'll be treated
or not but this isn't the Amazaon jungle. Someone is going to patch you up,
like it or not. Then they'll bill the rest of us for it.

Looked pretty easy, not like any of the beginner SW issues you
constantly had and complained about trying to use SW. OH! and they
still have a history tree, used it without any issues, whassssssssup

Not a great video but it does show how smart Delcam For SolidWorks is
when a pocket is changed by the customer. With this change in pocket
design the original larger end mill chosen automatically for the
pocket is now too big to machine all of the pocket. Watch what happens
when the pocket is changed:
http://www.delcamtv.com/delcam-video.asp?VideoId=82
What Delcam For SolidWorks does is reduce the tediousness that's often
associated with CADCAM programming and allows you to create part
programs much, much faster than stand-alone CADCAM programs like
Gibbscam that don't even know what a feature is.

If they admitted their bias, I suspect their license would be pulled.
If they keep doing it, it just might be.

That Buerste cannot provide a cite is pretty clear evidence that he just

As Im sure you all remember..the Leftards tried to reinvoke the Fairness
Doctrine recently.
However..when it was brought to their attention that ABC/CBS/NBC/CNN
would also be required to have Conservtives on the air..I suspect they
pulled back so fast they got whiplash.

This really does not deserve an answer. But I will answer anyway.
I can teach everything you need to know about welding in one day. But
you need to actually practice welding in order to become proficient.
Same thing is true of Math and English. You need to actually
practice doing math and writing. The practice can be done without a
teacher. So if the kids do the practice at home, the teacher can
teach more during the day.
