Global ocean models don't include the mediterranean sea. It is
modelled separately because it is a closed body of water. So you will
have to find a European government or university which is running a
model on the mediterranean, for example Denmark http://ocean.dmi.dk/models/wam.uk.php
This model is run every 6 hours (with run time on Cray supercomputer
of 2 hours). You would have to set up a process to download the data
every 6 hours, and choose the forecast which is closest to the current
time (this is called the "nowcast").

the data will be provided as a grid of points, with maybe 0.1 degrees
between each point over the mediterranean, probably in GRIB format.
To visualize the wave height data you will need to interpolate the
grid to form a smooth surface, generate contours, project it to
Mercator, apply color ranges, and render for a range of zooms as a
custom tile layer in Google maps.
