of the amount you deposit [premiums] to the LIC.

So if you have a policy of Rs2, 00, 000 with a premium of Rs10, 000
per annum and the bonus rate is 5.5% then your this year bonus amount
will be Rs11, 000 [5.5% of 2, 00, 000] and not Rs1100/
