drag a rectangular selection box on the map

Hi List,

I read almost all the old messages about this issue this morning, but
I did not understand how to implement this functionality.

I'd like to draw a selection rectangle on the map and extract the
bounds coordinates to populate a GLatLngBounds object (I need it to
send a spatial query...).
In other words I need something very similare to the dragzoom ...but
without zooming at the end.
