version query

We use google maps to fetch the Latitude and longitude information for
the business.
When calling google maps, we are not passing any version number in the
URL.

Our call looks something like this:
http://maps.google.com/maps?file=api

We donot pass any parameter as "v="
Request you to let us know, which version of Google Maps API would be
used in this case(will it be 2.x or 2.s?)
