Is there an easy way to put markers on polyline per specific distance.

Hello,
I have a polyline on my map, but instead showing markers on polyline's
points I want to show markers on every 1 km for example. Is there an
easy way to calculate them? I searched in many example pages, but
didn't see anything close.
