Sure... if you design it well, and distribute your jar to the app
developers that need it, it will work fine :).
But, to be honest... dealing directly with a server isn't much different
or tougher than dealing with a service :), but then again if your API is
well designed the app developer should just have to call a function or
two, and that is easier.
