Keep in mind too that not all streets, actually very few, are straight
lines. Streets that are circles technically have the same start and
end points!

If all you want is data for the US, try the Census Tiger Shapefiles.
Canada has similar data. I believe you can get data on Australia too.
Not many countries offer free databases of their streets.
