[android-developers] Can´t animate ImageView

hi everybody.
i'm having problems when trying to animate an ImageView. it is a
simple alpha animation.

the anim is in the xml file:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<alpha xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
android:interpolator="@android:anim/linear_interpolator"
android:fromAlpha="0"
android:toAlpha="1"
android:duration="1500" />

and i load it on the onDraw() from a class that inherits from
RelativeLayout:

Animation anim = AnimationUtils.loadAnimation(ctx, R.anim.appear);
apolloView.startAnimation(anim);

the image shows but in only displays the first step of the animation
(the first frame).
i don't understand this. any help i'll really appreciate it
