CakePHP Parameter Manipulation

Hi All
I'm coming up dry on searches for this subject. I'm new to cakephp
and I'm researching now how to build an admin section. In cakephp how
is url manipulation where a logged in user can edit the record ID in
the URL to load a different record handled?

I'm use to using instead of record set IDs long 32 character codes to
prevent this. Can that be accomplished with Cake?
