[Google Maps API v2] How to get nearest places

I'm developing a small project for that I need a surrounding places
when user give specific location.

eg...when user specify around 5kms of Hyderabad......it will display
the places around 5kms of Hyderabad.

can u help me out.........what steps i need to take.......
i dont want the google amp view i need only placewise search..
