[Google Maps API v2] Please help me to solve the problem

I have been asked to compare and contrast the role of the desktop GIS
applications, such as ESRI arcGIS, and virtual globes, such as Google
Maps, in an application domain in my choice. My domain is River
Dredging.
I have also been asked to explain and exemplify what each form of GIS
has been used to do in terms of geodata management, spatial analysis
and geovisualisation and the socio-technical context that places
limitations on their performance.
I checked my group but found nothing.
