[Rails] Re: Want to learn Ruby as web programming language

First this:

and also check the Try it out link.

I suggest these books:
http://www.pragprog.com/titles/ruby/programming-ruby
http://www.pragprog.com/titles/fr_ltp/learn-to-program
the second is about the basics, the first is about Ruby1.9.

3 important things:
1. write down your goals with it, and write it down - will motivate
you;
2. find a helpful mentor, who knows what you need,
3. find a friendly user group! have you checked meetup.com?

Practise is more important then theory, so try out everything, what
you can, feel the flow, play to make study more fun!
