[Google Maps API v2] Hiding all markers on the map if not selected in dropdown

I am using a dropdown in which i should hide the markers on the map
if the specific location is not selected. They should show up only
when i select the location.
I am able to show the all the markers when selected from the dropdown
and they display messager when i select a location. But i am not able
to hide them on the map when i select another location.
can anyone help me with this.
