[Google Maps API v2] TileCutter transparent PNG error

Hey all,
I am cutting tiles with John's script. I have an png image that
currently
has a transparent background . After I cut the tiles, I found that the
background wasn't transparent anymore. It was gray.Also, I would
rather use transparent tiles
(instead of setting the partial opacity) as my original image is a
transparent PNG, but even with changes in the TileCutter script to
save
png images, all the tiles are saved on a gray background (i.e., no
transparency), and are again saved with all the extra padding around
the tile images. What should i do.
