[Google Maps API v2] http question - Is my POI close to route between A and B

Hi,

I use Google Maps http API from excel VBA.

My question is:

I have two points. Say A and B.

I have point C,D,E,F as well.

Which is the quickest way, to know which of points C,D,E,F is located
within x miles from my route between A and B ?
