[Google Maps API v2] legal terms for using google maps on the iphone
Hi,
We're developing an iPhone app that uses the mapkit in the iPhone SDK
(which in turn uses Google Maps). The app will show a map of where
the user currently is and have pins for some venues. The app is free
but will have ads.
Is there any legal restrictions on using Google Maps for our app? We
read the terms in
http://code.google.com/apis/maps/iphone/terms.html
and it has 10.4 (licensee should not "charge users or any other third
party any incremental fee solely for the use of the Maps API
Implementation, the Service, or the Content, unless you have entered
into a separate written agreement with Google or obtained Google's
written permission to do so".
We're not charging the users for the app; the ads charge the
advertisers. Are we clear legally to use Google Maps?
Thanks.
