I'm having exactly the same problem. The problem started to show up after I updated java to version 1.6.0_24

$ java -version

java version "1.6.0_24"

Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_24-b07)

Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 19.1-b02, mixed mode)

$ cat /etc/redhat-release 

Fedora release 14 (Laughlin)
