How to display waiting in traffic time between two end points

if the question is simply *how* to display it (not where to access the
data, etc), the obvious answer seems to me to be a polyline between
the points, probably with an infowindow noting whatever info you wish
to display. I guess Elabels would be another option: http://econym.org.uk/gmap/elabel.htm

or am I way off?
