You're getting infinite redirects because there is no condition in your forceSSL function- have it check for https first, otherwise it will just keep redirecting:

function forceSSL(

    if(isset($_SERVER['HTTPS']) && $_SERVER['HTTPS'] == 'on') ) {

          return;

     } else {

          $this->redirect('https://' . $_SERVER['SERVER_NAME'] . $this->here);

     }

)
