FieldUpdater within CellTable still cannot update EntityProxy

Hello

Myself and others have been struggling with updating values in CellTable that is part of an editor hierarchy via a HasDataEditor. Essentially the AutoBean provided to the FieldUpdater is frozen.  The Autobeans held by Editors obtained from ListEditor.getEditors() are also frozen.

I'm finding this in 2.3 M1 beta but it was apparently present in 2.1 and 2.2.

It would be great to get resolution on issue 5981 so myself and probably others know how to proceed.
