People have already provided you with a multitude of answers here. 

And you said yourself, use something like pdfbox.  

If you haven't received answers so far that meet your needs, you probably will not.

However, if you don't have a lot of programming experience, there is almost no chance that what you implement will be fast enough to beat out a good pdf renderer.  So choose one (pdfbox looks like a good start) and go with that.

Please search code.google.com for droid reader. It is full implementation for you. Of course if you are a beginner you will need someone to guide you how to understand it.
