[android-developers] Control level of Log class

I want to be able to control the log level of the Log class inside my app.

Reading:

http://developer.android.com/reference/android/util/Log.html#isLoggable(java.lang.String, int)

I see that its possible, but the local.prop file is in a very inconvenient place (need root access to change it).

Is there anywhere in the app itself that a file like that can reside to control logging?
