You're using GeoXml to show your KML + sidebar.
A note on the GeoXml homepage
http://www.dyasdesigns.com/geoxml/
says
"Additional limitation : sidebar sorting and subfolder structure in
the kml are incompatible"
I'm not sure if that means you can expect subfolders to work properly
if no sorting options are chosen, or not.
