in order to install django follow the procedure:
go to djangoproject.com, First, download Django-1.3.tar.gz.
then through terminal go into the download by using the command - cd Downloads/
by running this command you will enter in the Downloads.then you have
to run the command - tar xzvf Django-1.3.tar.gz
after thisrun the command- cd Django-1.3
after this run - sudo python setup.py install.
then run the command - sudo apt-get install subversion

This is the method of how to install the complete django .
