Lots of DIVs

Hi all,

I've been wondering about this for a long time. I thought it was about
time I asked.

When I create even the simplest widget, I see

<div style="position: absolute; left: 0px; top: 0px; right: 0px; bottom: 0px;">
<div style="position: absolute; z-index: -32767; top: -20ex; width:

<div style="position: absolute; overflow: hidden; left: 0px; top: 0px;
right: 0px; bottom: 0px;">
<div style="position: absolute; left: 0px; top: 0px; right: 0px; bottom: 0px;">
<div style="position: absolute; z-index: -32767; top: -20ex; width:
10em; height: 10ex;">&nbsp;</div>
<div style="position: absolute; overflow: hidden; left: 0px; top: 0px;
right: 0px; bottom: 0px;">
<div class="GMYET22DPF" style="position: absolute; left: 0px; top:
0px; right: 0px; bottom: 0px;">
</div>

at runtime. The middle DIV with class GMYET22DPF is (finally) my stuff. :-)

Do I really need all those extra DIVs? And all that position absolute
styling stuff? Is there a way to get rid of it or is it actually
adding value somehow?

(I am not a CSS/HTML person so to me it just seems unnecessary.)
