functools is part of the stdlib (http://docs.python.org/library/
functools.html#module-functools) so unless your system install is
really weird or broken or something messes with your sys.path this
shouldn't happen. The best way to debug your problem would be to check
the traceback to find out where the failed import happens and edit it
to add a couple print statements - specially what you sys.path looks
like.
Also and FWIW: do you have more than one Python install on your
system, and if yes are you sure django-admib.py calls the right one ?
Oh and yes: before we waste any more time, please post the FULL
traceback. It's here to provide as much clues as possible about what
went wrong.
