[Google Maps API v2] Bleed maps?

Has someone created a toolkit, API, library, etc. to create bleed
overlays.

Bleed maps allow one to pick points and show color gradients
"bleeding" outwards to show demand vs. supply, access to resources,
etc.

Ideally, the bleed would follow roads.
