[Google Maps API v2] POIs along a route - server side script

Hi

I've checked an example of POIs along a route :

http://gis5.com/pois_along_route/gm_pois_along_route.php

It's a great example of using a google maps api what I'm looking for.
I understood a frond-end scripting a everything is clear.

Could you tell me where I can find a tutorial of server side cgi or
php script ?
Perhaps similar complete server side script ?
