Depending on how bad you need those statistics you could always build
android from source. If CyanogenMod is available for your device,
that may be the way to go with obtaining source that can be built and
ran on your device. It really depends on how badly you need those
"statistics". Otherwise this type of functionality would definitely
be considered spyware.
