You have not coded the colours correctly. You have =color: where there
should just be color:

http://maps.googleapis.com/maps/api/staticmap?center=35.535833,-85.469444&zoom=5&size=800x800&markers=size:tiny|color:yellow|Miami%20Gardens,FL&markers=size:tiny|color:red|Robertsdale,AL&markers=size:tiny|color:red|Riverview,FL&markers=size:tiny|color:red|Gulf%20Hammock,FL&markers=size:tiny|color:red|Beaufort,NC&markers=size:tiny|color:green|Castalia,NC&markers=size:tiny|color:green|Pendleton,SC&markers=size:tiny|color:green|Saint%20Johns,FL&markers=size:tiny|color:red|New%20London,CT&markers=size:tiny|color:blue|Richmond,VA&markers=size:tiny|color:blue|Jasper,FL&markers=size:tiny|color:green|Canton,MS&markers=size:tiny|color:red|Pembroke%20Park,FL&markers=size:tiny|color:blue|Oxford,NC&markers=size:tiny|color:red|Browns%20Summit,NC&markers=size:tiny|color:green|Riverview,FL&markers=size:tiny|color:red|Oneonta,AL&markers=size:tiny|color:blue|Jasper,FL&sensor=false

Note that that doesn't have the extra markers, too.

The images are static maps, so they don't zoom. If you want to zoom,
you need an API map.
