Can anyone please offer a detailed coding example showing how to keep textView after a configuration change-such as a screen rotation?
It is doubtful you're going to get a detailed coding example.
I would like the user to be able to spin the device, and see the data that was in the textView before the device was rotated. I have read the documentation -but I really need a coding example.
Why? What are you missing? What have you done that is not working?
I understand that the activity is destroyed and then onCreate runs again when the device is rotated. So, how do I get the data that was in a textView to stay in the textView after the rotation?
TextViews should automatically retain their data across their rotation. Most built-in widgets do.
Perhaps if you post the code that you have that is not working someone can point out the problem.
