Is there a GWT-RPC protocol specification?

I am new to GWT, coming from the Flex world where we were using the
AMF protocol for client/server communications. The paradigm of GWT-
RPC and AMF are very similar. So far one difference is that AMF is
typically done with a binary encoding. I am looking for a GWT-RPC
protocol spec to better understand what is happening under the covers

To help gain acceptance Adobe published the AMF protocol and it
resulted in various third party projects to help analyze traffic such
as CharlesProxy's built in AMF deserializer/analyzer. Anything like
that for GWT-RPC?
