ACL can you explain me this ?

Hi all,

I have follow the Cookbook on Acl and Auth and i don't unterstand what
that lines means :

// Basic setup
$this->Auth->authorize = array('Controller');

or

// Pass settings in
$this->Auth->authorize = array(
'Actions' => array('actionPath' => 'controllers/'),
'Controller'
);
or

// Pass settings in using 'all'
$this->Auth->authorize = array(
AuthComponent::ALL => array('actionPath' => 'controllers/'),
'Actions',
'Controller'
);
?>

My ACL work if i put this code in my application but i don't
understand why... Can you give more information please ?
