[Google Maps API v2] Question about using static maps in iOS App

Hi, I'm developing an iOS app that will use Google Maps when the
device is online, but since it's posible that the device has no
Internet connection from time to time I want to embedd a map generated
using static google maps api.

The map is from a fixed location from a certain city in Costa Rica; I
want to display it and if the user double taps on it and the device is
online I'll show another screen with the standard google map.

Is there copyright issues? The app is going to be free.
