[Google Maps API v2] Anything change recently to stop maps loading in IE7/8?

Hello Team,

Google Maps API [http://maps.google.com/maps?file=api&v=2&key=xxx]
worked perfectly fine on our website in all browsers.

We have just noticed that the Google Maps do not load on Internet
Explorer version 7 & 8. We get the JavaScript error notification
message: 'GIcon' is undefined. Which looks like the Maps API is not
being loaded by the URL above.

Please note adding the following sites to IE's list of trusted sites,
fixed the issue:
http://*.google.com
http://*.googleapis.com
http://*.gstatic.com
However this is not a long term solution as it is a public facing
website...

Has anyone else come across this or have a work around?
