I don't think it's that so much as the fact that it's a fundamentally
different programming model. :-) This corresponds to the situation
when you pass a reference to a constructor (if you view intents to
startActivity or startService as something analogous to a function
call), which makes sense in that situation, but Android doesn't work
like that.
