ok tom thanks for reply.. tom i just want to measure near distance , just 20 cm or 30 cm.. can u give me idea? how if i use proximity sensor?

Acceleration is delta velocity over delta time.  Velocity is delta position over delta time.  If you can accurately sample the acceleration values over a period of time, you could calculate the changes in velocity and therefore the overall change in position.

In practice, I don't think that smartphone accelerometers are anywhere near as accurate as you'd need to be able to do this.  If they were, smartphones would cost as much as missile guidance systems.
