[android-developers] Layouts and Animation

I need to setup an Activity that when a certain button is pressed, a widget will be animated (slide in from bottom) onto the screen.
I haven't been able to find an example of how you setup a layout to have the widget off-screen before the animation, and stay on-screen after the animation.
Anyone know of an example?
