[android-developers] Freeze view during updates

Hey, 

I've a view that gets updated in code. Is there a way in Android to freeze the screen so all the changes will be rendered off screen? so that the user will see only the end results? (and it won't flicker)

In .net there is the Suspend/Resume Layout pattern
