Are you really developing a new map in the deprecated API v2?

There are ways to get access to the points in the polylines in the
route and export that as kml. I'm pretty sure it has been discussed
in this group before.

As always, reading the posting guidelines and providing a link to your
current map showing what you are currently doing would yield more
productive advice.
