[android-developers] best practice in extending classes

when i extend internal classes or core classes like View.OnClickListener or ArrayAdapter - do i have to manually take care of all objects inside to prevent memory leaks? like in overriding the onStop() or onDestroy() methods and setting objects to null?

thx
