[android-developers] Intent for saved attachment in GMail

Hi,
I develop an application that cooperates with mail applications. I use
GMail 4.0.5 and noticed the following:
When I'm in GMail, open a mail, press View in attachment field and
choose my application, I receive an intent with content:// scheme. But
from once I save the attachment on I keep getting an intent with file://
scheme after pressing View.
It is moreless fine until the attachment file is erased from storage
(sdcard) - then I am not able to View the attachment anymore as I
still receive a file:// intent, but now pointing to nonexisting
location. The same behavior can be observed also with other
applications that I choose to open the attachment - everything goes
well until I save the attachment and then remove it.

Is this a feature or a bug? Is there a way how to avoid this behavior?

Thanks for clearing.
David
