[android-developers] Re: When the android id can change

If you mean ANDROID_ID then the documentation is pretty clear I think. 

"A 64-bit number (as a hex string) that is randomly generated on the device's first boot and should remain constant for the lifetime of the device. (The value may change if a factory reset is performed on the device.)"

AFAIK the android id can change if:
  • the device is rooted, manually
  • changing OS (Cyanogenmod)

Could it change  upgrading the device in an official way?
