Django newbie

I am trying django using the djangobook tutorial. I have Python
experience. However when I'm trying to execute following command in
command prompt (Windows 7), I get this error.
File "<stdin>", line 1
django-admin.py startproject mysite
^
SyntaxError: Invalid synatx

I have put Python in Windows Environment variables already. First I go
to the directory and write that command. It doesnt work.

Any suggestions?
