To my knowledge there is no standardized solution available for Android out of the box. There is usually also no standardized email app available on all devices. You can get around that problem by taking an Open Source email client like K-9 and adapting it for your needs. That way you could even use the very same XML file you are talking about for setting up accounts.

I just finished doing this for the iphone and it was pretty easy. I just used the .mobileconfig file as a template and replaced the needed values. The user then goes to the url I provide, it downloads the file and boom, they are set up. I can't seem to find anything about doing this on Android. Does anyone know how or does anyone have a link to a tutorial or example that explains how this is done?
