[Google Maps API v2] Re: map api error

Here is the official version - for v3
https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/tutorial#api_key
"All Maps API applications* should load the Maps API using an API key"
This recommendation has changed over time, there is no way to enforce
authors of older articles to update their work.

Here is the discussion group for v3 (this is the v2 group)

That WIKI uses v2 Maps API, which is quite different from v3, so if
you follow the WIKI you can ignore all about v3.

If, like the WIKI, you use v2, then you must get the key working. How
you get keys and enable them for your own use has also changed over
time, so again you must make sure not to follow out of date advice.

That WIKI provides a link for "Have a suggestion to improve this
page?", I don't think there's much we can do from here.

Have you tried the suggestions about getting the & right, you
didn't say?
