I've also gotten some good milage out of django-medusa:

Medusa takes a slightly different approach to Bakery. Unless I'm
mistaken, Bakery requires that your views all be class-based; Medusa
lets you use any view type, and separates the static site generation
process from the views themselves.

That said; Bakery has better tools for incrementally rebuilding a
site, which might be an issue if you've got a very large site.
