I get that however from looking at the bug, it is in a method setupSecureSocket in a class HttpConnection.  The only reference with that name I can find in the API documentation is in an interface in the org.apache.http namespace and I'm pretty sure they are different animals.

If you know a way of incorporating this patch to make HttpsURLConnection usable for ICS devices, I'd be very grateful if you would share it.
