[android-developers] IME - Service in a trusted and activated thrid-app IME which set iteslef as the default IME - Possible?

Hello,

I'm working on IMEs. I know that only the system and verified IMEs can programatically switch the IME in use. However I am not sure if it is possible to do the following:

I want my own IME_A (which is in a "verified and activated by user" state) having a service that can programatically switch from an IME_B to my IME_A or the contrary.

In the case the IME_B is active and set as the default keyboard, I launch my APP_C which send an intent to the above service of my IME_A in order to switch the default IME from IME_B to IME_A. Does it works? I mean, does my IME_A (which was previously accepted as a trust IME by the user) can perform this switch?

Thanks for helping me ;)
